SketchUp is behaving strange

Why is SketchUp is having strange graphical errors

When using SketchUp, every now and again something odd can happen with the graphics. This includes
- Screen tearing
- Pixelation
- Incorrect renders/exports
- Disappearing models/lines
- Objects behaving strange

Realistically any strange behaviour inside of SketchUp can be caused by an object being placed extremely far away,
This can happen mainly when importing objects from 3D warehouse and often with geolocated objects but other things have been known to cause this so it's always worth a check if you notice something strange.

First in SketchUp head to Window > Outliner

Once the Outliner is open the easiest option is to selected everything in your scene by clicking and dragging the selection over it, you may want to zoom out.

Now everything that you would need to keep is selected look back to the outliner and check what is not selected.
Clicking on the object will highlight it blue in your scene, if you cannot see this then use right-click and 'zoom selection' to take you to the missing piece.

This is the culprit to your issues and should be deleted.
Now save your file and see if any issues are resolved. You may want to run through these steps once more after you delete an object just incase there's anything else that might be causing and issue or is generally not meant to be there.

Lastly give your file/SketchUp a reboot (make sure its closed and quit on Mac) and see if that has resolved the issue.

If do don't find anything or the issues continue please check this article on optimising your SketchUp file or here for updating your GPU drivers.
