Setting Up the Rhino Cloud Zoo

Setting Up the Rhino Cloud Zoo

After you purchase Rhino you are given a key which you can just enter into the software and get working or you can add it to the Cloud Zoo where you have more flexibility with accessing the software.

First ensure you have a Rhino account and remove the key from the software if you did use it.

From here you have two options either add it to your own Personal account or create a Team and add the licence there.
- If you are the only user and want to have the licence float between a work machine and a home/travel machine then Personal is the better choice
- If there are multiple users then the team can manage the larger user numbers

Once you know which account to add the licence to click into it and press Add Licence, and follow the onscreen prompt to add the licence key which for Rhino 8 is a 24 digit code starting RH80

From here if you're on a personal licence head to Rhino and log into the personal account and you should be able to use Rhino freely between multiple machines. If you leave Rhino running then you will not be able to activate on a new machine and will have to close Rhino or turn off the machine using the Rhino Licence

If you set up as a team there is one more step,

Back where you could Add Licence you need to click Manage Team > Invite Members and once again fill in the boxes with the emails of the users you would like to add.

After they have accepted the invitation then they can log into the application under their own email and it will take a licence from the Team account.

If you have 3 licences for 5 users (as an example) as they don't all use it at the same time then it could be handy to see who is actively using a licence.
- While in your team click into the Live Usage box
- From here you can see how many users are active, which users and which device they are on.

Lastly to give the licence back to the Team the users simply have to close Rhino. If you or a user does happen to leave it running then unfortunately you will have to go back to that machine and shut down Rhino or turn the machine off.
