If you are experiencing an issue whereby you successfully enter your license details into Sketchup Pro, but it later says you are running the trial, having disregarded your license details, please do the following:
Completely clear your internet browser's cache and cookies.

Please note, fixing this issue can also resolve other issues that can be occurring as a result. These can include Sketchup crashing unexpectedly and third party plugins such as V-Ray for Sketchup crashing/failing.
This issue appears to be most prevalent on Mac OS X but is known to also occur on Windows.
Please also try:
Temporarily disabling any firewall software you may be running - as this can intercept the necessary connections between Sketchup and the licensing server.
