Why do my models import into KeyShot with different scales?

Why do my models import into KeyShot with different scales?

To answer this question, it is important to understand how KeyShot handles scale.  When importing, the import settings window pops up giving the following coordinate choices: automatic, from previous import, and keep original .the first import is given an automatic scale by default.

1.  Automatic will apply an arbitrary scale value to make the imported model proportional to the current scene.  Even when two parts from the same scene have the same scale in the CAD software, the Automatic feature will adjust the scale to fit the current scene in KeyShot.

2.  From Previous import, takes the scale of the last import and applies it to the new model you are adding to the scene.  You will want to use this to match geometry scale/size relative to each other.

3.  Keep Original applies to bip files.  This option will ensure the geometry contained in the bip file will keep the same scale as when it was first brought into KeyShot.

4.  Lastly, If you are unable to obtain the correct scale, you can also try to use "Automatic" coordinates to import a bip file.
