Why am I unable to import my model into KeyShot?

Why am I unable to import my model into KeyShot?

There are three main reasons for this:
  • Your version of KeyShot is not compatible with the CAD software
  • A misplaced assembly or part files
  • Unlicense CAD software

1.  First, ensure your version of KeyShot is compatible with the CAD software.  You can find the latest KeyShot update at http://keyshot.com/downloads/updates/  For Alias and Maya, you wil also want to make sure you have Autodesk Alias Installed (it does not need to be licensed).  Maya must be installed and licensed.

2.  All part and assembly files must be inside the same folder (no subfolders).

3.  When you import, the import settings window opens.  Expand the advanced menu and enable the New Importer (SW only).  If already enabled, then disable it and try to import (SW only).

4.  Click rebuild/regenerate the top assembly in your CAD software, then attempt to export once more

5.  Try the plugin (windows os only).  Aside from a software update, this is the only other option for KeyShot and SW users.  The plugin adds a button inside the modeling software.  You can export your model to KeyShot with the click of this button.

6.  Reminder that Alibre users may only import bip files.

7.  Try to export a different  CADfile type"
