Using a Romer Arm Digitiser with Rhino 3D

This article assumes you're running Windows 7 or later.

From the outset, Rhino 3D incorporates connectors for some of the most popular digitisers. One of these is the Hexagon Metrology Romer Arm series.

Romer Driver Software

In order to run the Romer Arm from Rhino, it's necessary to first install the RDS software from the Hexagon website. This can be downloaded here.

Accessing Romer from Rhino

Within Rhino, go to the Tools > 3D Digitiser menu to connect and select your Romer Arm. If your drivers are installed correctly and the Romer Arm is fully connected, you should now be able to drive the arm from Rhino.
