Keyshot Crashing - Windows

Keyshot Crashing - Windows

If you're finding Keyshot is regularly crashing on Windows, please try the steps below for when/where you see the crash happening.

Crashing Immediately After Launch

New KeyShot releases require the most recent graphics drivers. To check your driver:

1. Launch Windows Device Manager.
2. Go to Display Adapters.
3. Right-click your card and go to Properties -> Driver -> Driver Date.

Your driver should not be more than two months old. To obtain the latest, visit the graphic card manufacturer's web page and search for the latest driver for your card model. Most users will have Nvidia graphic cards so please see our general guide for how to perform a 'Clean reinstall' which is recommended when encountering issues like this.

Crash/Freeze When Importing or Saving

This crash is normally caused by DELL's Backup and Recovery. On Alienware, this is called AlienRespawn. We've also received reports that NAHIMIC, gaming audios software, causes conflicts.

To fix this issue, you can try the following:

1. Go to your Start menu, click Control Panel -> Programs.
2. Click Uninstall a Program.
3. Find Dell Backup and Recovery or AlienRespawn (on Alienware), or NAHIMIC.
4. Right-click and select Uninstall.
5. Follow the prompts until the utility uninstalls and re-start your computer

Crash While KeyShot Is Idle

We've received reports that Raptr, screen recording software, and NAHIMIC, gaming audio software, cause similar crashes.

We recommend uninstalling Raptr and removing the faulting module: C:\PROGRA~2\RAPTRI~1\PlaysTV\ltc_game64-116096.dll

Crash Only with a Certain User Login

According to Microsoft support, the .config file may be corrupt. To fix this, delete your user.config file. For more information, click here.

Your Program Can't Start Because MSVCP100.dll is missing
