Crashes when exporting in SketchUp and LayOut 2023

If you're experiencing crashes when exporting with SketchUp and LayOut, consider using different rendering styles.

Try changing the settings in Layout under File > Document Setup (Rendering). This is a new setting introduced in SketchUp 2023.1, so you will need to be using this version or newer.

Turn off 'Output Override' and see if that and/or changing the resolution settings helps.

This new Output Override feature allows you to work in raster mode, while providing the ability to export (print or a file) in either Vector or Hybrid mode (File → Document Setup…-> Rendering). While this will be very beneficial for those needing Vector or Hybrid rendered viewports, but not wanting to work in LayOut with viewports rendered in either Vector or Hybrid, this will be a change for those of you exporting Raster rendered viewports.

This feature has been set on by default so that more people are more likely to experience smoother operations in LayOut. So, if you want to print or export Raster rendered viewports, this preference will need to be disabled. By not disabling this feature, you will experience slower export or printing times compared to a normal Raster export because it is applying the default Override value of Hybrid render.

This behavior will apply to existing files being opened up in 2023.1, so please keep that in mind if you choose raster viewport rendering for export performance reasons.
