Cinema 4D Crashing on launch or loading indefinitely
There are many known reasons and possible fixes for this issue. As there is not an easily accessible/understandable bug report it can take some effort to figure out what is going on. The issue has also affected versions going back multiple years with even more possible solutions from users on forums.
The first thing to try would be ensuring you have updated to the latest version of Windows and also recently restarted your machine as these simple things can help.
Next would be to perform a clean install of your graphics card (GPU). Ensure anything using your graphics card is not running and more importantly C4D and Maxon apps are not running either.
Now head to ‘Device Manager’ and under ‘Display adapters’ look to see what GPU your machine has. For a rendering software like C4D you should have a discrete GPU with NVIDIA being the more popular brand so we will go through those instructions.
Once you know what GPU you have, go to the NVIDIA website and download the latest driver update.
Once you have found and downloaded the driver, run the application and follow the on screen instructions until you see ‘Custom (Advanced)’
In this setting ensure to click ‘Perform a clean installation’ and continue. This may take a few minutes but after trying to run C4D through the Maxon app.
