Balancing render performance vs render time in KeyShot

Balancing render performance vs render time in KeyShot

In the world of computer media and design, everyone is looking for a perfect balance between render time and render quality.  It is important to note that KeyShot is 100% CPU powered.   KeyShot’s performance is linearly correlated to the number of processor cores in your computer.  If you double the number of cores, you double performance and cut render time by half.  Aside from this, render time will depend on the complexity of your scene, number of frames and the level of detail in your materials (i.e. textures, samples).

Here are some tips to obtain the best results:

1.  Decrease the size of your ground plane.  you can also scale down your model

2.  Decrease the material roughness,   and glossy samples

3.  Make diffuse transmission black (for Advanced material)

4.  Decrease unnecessary resolution and DPI value

5.  Use your real-time settings as guideline (see tutorial lesson #9)

6.  Animation and VR will require multiple images to be rendered.  A high performance (20+ cores) can be a good investment.  You may also consider our network rendering software.
